This festival is held by Muslims in Malaysia, Singapore and so on. Festival’s name means an auspicious day of ending Ramadan. So this festival is held after Ramadan for about four days. But Muslims know at fast when Malaysia’s royal family meeting announce the day before Hari Raya Puasa.
This festival is similar to the New Year and The Bon Festival. Because children can get a New Year’s gift and people visit to relatives and grave. Especially I think visiting to relatives is interesting because people prepare some foods. For example, from five to six kinds cakes and cookies (biscuits, dodoi , reman etc…), fruits mix juice, ketopatto and so on. It is ketopatto that rice ball is wrapped in palm’s leaf.
