Birds in New Zealand!

☆Haast's Eagle☆


There are two lost birds. One is Moa, the other is Haast’s Eagle. I introduce to Haast’s Eagle. A once it lived in south of New Zealand. It is called Harpagornis Eagle in Japan. When Haast’s Eagle spreads its wings, its wings are 3 meters. It is the biggest eagle. Female’ weight is from 10 kg to 15 kg, but male’s weight is from 9 kg to 10 kg. Female is heavier than male. Moreover they could fly at a speed of more than 80 kilometers an hour and they attack a game as it is. Then them sharp talons and big beak were useful. They ate birds which couldn’t fly in the air, like Moa. So when Moa became extinct, Haast’s Eagle lost feeds and Haast’s Eagle was on the road to extinction. But it has a terrible story. It says that Haast's Eagle attack humans!!



☆Moa☆

This bird is called Moa and it is a plant-eating animal. The total length is 3 meters.Female is heavier than male. It is the same as Haast's Eagle. It couldn't fly in the air because its legs developed . It has enemy, only Haast's Eagle! Haast's Eagle eat Moa and after a while Maori begin to hunt Moa. So it became indecreasing and became extinct.
